Our Present

I am very grateful for the wonderful blessing of being pregnant. I love knowing that something beautiful is growing inside of me. We have not been able to find out what it is, but we are blessed to know that it is a healthy baby. When we went to the Dr.'s last week it was amazing to see how much it had grown. Today I decided to take some cute pictures of my belly to keep as memories and I wanted to share them with you. I hope you like them!

A day at the fair

On Saturday Phil's family came over to visit with us and we had a great evening at the fair. I was really glad that Phil's sisters were able to come. We didn't get on any of the rides, but we enjoyed walking around and having some fair food. My favorite part of the evening was when Kristi entered a gobbling contest, she didn't win but I think she was the best. I can't forget the pig and turkey races, that was a lot of fun too. After walking around for a while we went and listened to some music. We didn't get home until midnight so we were all really tired and ready for bed.
Sunday was very relaxing... we ate, watched movies, went swimming and then ate some more. I love having family over!

Phillip, Erika and the baby!

Look closely at Don Wes, I think this is the best picture of him.

Phil likes her kisses better than mine :(

Don Wes was cold.
The pigs were so cute!

Kristi was the best, I think she deserved 1st place.

An Exciting Weekend

I had been looking forward to this weekend because my family and Phillip's family were coming to visit. My parents and the kids came today, and even though they only stayed for a few hours we were really happy to see them. My mother is so cute, like always she thinks of others. She brought us so much stuff! She brought us some garlic, onions, peppers, peaches, papaya and she also brought one of Phil's favorite dinners, Tinga Poblana which by the way was very yummy! We went swimming for a while, then we had to come back to the apartment. After Phil left to work we watched Top Gun. We had Dinner then my parents left :(
I was very happy to see them, I am grateful they took time off from work to come and visit. My parents still can't believe that I have my own little family, but they sure are happy for me because they know I have a wonderful man by my side. They were also exited for our little apartment, they thought it was just perfect for us. I can't wait until they come again, it probably won't be until the baby is born. Just 3 more months until the baby joins our family!

I am also excited about tomorrow because the Tomlinson's are coming! I am really excited to see them. I haven't seen Kristi for a while and I can't wait to see Heather. We are planning on going to the fair and eating some delicious and fattening foods.

The True Story

The true story about Phillip's birthday dinner is that I cooked it and he loved it. I was a little scared at first because it was my first time doing it all by myself. I had helped Martie the previous year, but this time I didn't have the cooking expert. Well, I must admit that dinner tasted almost like hers. But something always has to come out wrong, this time it was the strawberry cake. I burnt it... not to mention that I totally ruined the frosting. I won't even describe the way the cake looked, because it was truly ugly.

That Doesn't Taste Like My Mom's Chicken!

Phillip turned 30 on Friday! Wow, now that I think about it that's kinda disgusting. I mean I'm only 20, what the heck was I thinking? Well, I guess it's to late to back out now, especially with a kid on the way and everything. Plus I need the medical coverage that he gets through the hospital so I can pay for the delivery and a few other body alterations that I've been considering.
Anyhoo, enough about all that stuff. We were not able to celebrate Phillip's birthday on Friday because my little slave was off making me money. Then on Saturday we had an activity at the stake center. So, after church today I made his famous birthday dinner that he has every year. I made chicken wings, fried rice, and strawberry cake. He said it tasted OK, but he told me that it didn't taste like his mom's cooking.

Erika the Staining Master

Today I wanted to surprise Phillip, so I decided to finish staining the two pieces of furniture that we had been working on. Hopefully they dry before he gets home so I can put them back in place and make the baby's room look clean and organized. I really like the color that we picked, it's a dark brown. These two pieces will look very different from all the other furniture we already have, but it's okay because we really wanted the baby's room to be different. I just really hope it turns out good.

Arroz con Leche

Arroz con leche,
me quiero casar
con un hispano
que sepa cantar.

El hijo del rey
me manda un papel,
me manda decir que
me case con él.

Con éste si,
con éste no,
con Phillip
me caso yo.

Today I attempted to make arroz con leche , and I must admit that for my first time it came out really good. Now, I just hope Phillip likes it.

Kern River

Yesterday we had a great day, we were finally able to see the doctor. She told us everything was looking good. I was worried about my blood pressure because every time I went to the Dr.'s it was a little high, but she told me that it was okay that I should not worry about it. We were not able to find out if it's Lucas or Maya, but it made me feel good to know that everything was just fine. So, after spending a lot of hours at the Dr.'s, we went to pick up Moe from his hotel. Then, we went to the Kern River for a couple of hours and even though Moe got injured, they seemed to have lots of fun. They looked like two little kids playing. After the river we came back home and had dinner, a really late dinner. Then our day with Moe was over, he was really tired, so we took him back to his hotel. I am very glad that he was able to spend a few hours with us, hopefully he can come often.

Why I love Phillip!

I love you Phillip! I am very thankful for all you do. You make me super happy.

Nervous!

Today has been a very good day. Phillip started his new shift at the hospital, it was really nice to wake up and spend all morning with him. He did not need to be at work until 3pm, so we spent a few hours together. But right now at this very moment I am feeling a little nervous because I have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow (it's a guy doctor). All this time I have been seeing a girl doctor, so I am a little nervous. But I will get used to it, I hope! I am hoping that we can find out if we are having a baby boy or a baby girl, the receptionist told me that they would probably do an ultrasound to check up on the baby, so hopefully they can tell us. Oh! I almost forgot, Moe is flying into Bakersfield tomorrow so we are going to take him to the lake and go swimming. After that I get to cook dinner for the guys, I hope he brings Pepto-Bismol. Well, I promise I will take pictures and I will let you guys know what we find out at the Dr.'s
