The Power of Prayer

I know that through prayer and faith miracles can take place. My cousin Gerardo who lives in Mexico was involved in a really bad car accident. He has been in the hospital for almost two weeks and is still in critical condition. Please have him in your prayers.

Happy B-day Lena

It had been like 4 or 5 months since we saw Camie and Juan Figueroa, but today we had the pleasure to celebrate Lena's 2nd birthday with them! It was lots of fun, we were supposed to get in the pool but it was too windy. There were so many toys to play with that we didn't mind not getting in the water. Maya learned how to climb the slide and then she wouldn't stop doing it. I got to practice being a mom of two, to see if I could handle it. I held Mika, their little six weeks old baby and watched Maya at the same time. It was a little challenging because I have a monkey child who likes to climb everything and never stops running and moving (its a good thing, I think). I even got in the bounce house and jumped with Maya and Lili, they loved it. They couldn't stop laughing. Visiting My Family

We had the opportunity to visit my family this weekend. It was a short visit but we were really happy to see them. They had so much fun with Maya and Maya loved being around them. We just left yesterday and I miss them already. Los quiero mucho y gracias por todo.
Here are Marcos and Maura being dorky:
I love you sister!

Here is my handsome brother:

I like to kiss him in public :D

House Stuff and Maya

Here is a picture of Maya "reading" a book. She loves to look at books! She always wants us to read to her. She is going to be so smart, I hope :D

We've also been working on the house, painting and cleaning. We haven't accomplished much but here are some pictures of what's been done.
This is how it looked before:

We still need to do a lot in this room but I think it's looking a lot better.

We also bought new bedding for our room! We still need to paint in there. But we have replaced the fan and put one that works like 10 times better. We also bought new curtains but are still waiting for them to arrive. I can't wait for this house to be done!

We picked this bedding because it goes perfect with the colors we picked for the walls; the walls will be the same color as the other room in the pictures above. The bathroom in our room will be painted an ocean blue and the cabinets will be white.

Freedom

Today was my last day of school. You don't know how happy I feel to be done with this semester. I struggled with my Logic class, I think this was the most confusing class I have ever taken. My other classes were very enjoyable. Now that I am done for now, I can relax and enjoy my family one hundred percent. We have so many plans for this summer, I can't hardly wait.

Time really does fly :(

Today I was showing Maya some old pictures of her. She has grown and changed so much. She is definitely a cutie, she has developed a very sweet personality. I am so happy and grateful to be her mommy.

Who wants a burrito?

Today Maya and Phillip had burritos for lunch. The burritos had shrimp, rice, olives, corn, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, salsa, cheese and more stuff I can't remember. I thought Maya would like it, but I think the size of it scared her and she didn't really eat it. She had fun playing with it though!

Happy Mothers Day

Phillip started my Mothers Day celebration on Thursday by taking me to see the Broadway show, The Wizard of Oz. It was amazing! I loved everything about it, the effects, the singing, the stages... We couldn't take pictures during the show but here a couple we took before the show began.

This picture came out blurry, sorry.

Saturday we went to watch Phillip's friend play tennis. It was really nice weather and Maya enjoyed playing with mud and also eating it. We came home and watched an awesome movie, The Man Without A Face.

Sunday Phillip fixed dinner for me. We had Shish Kabobs, grilled corn and pita bread.

Sugarland Concert

Last night Phillip and I went to see Sugarland in concert here in Bakersfield. A family in our ward was so kind to watch Maya so we could go see them. We had a great time! The music was amazing, their voices and their musical talents are just beyond good. We danced and sang for most of the concert. We loved it, we wished they would have kept playing all night.
