Congratulations! You Have Won a Camera

Phillip called me Friday to inform me that he had won a digital camera at work. He was so excited and so was I because the one we have right now doesn't take very good pictures. We'll see how this works for us!

Vamos Selección Mexicana!

The U.S. played good yesterday, it just wasn't enough. We had faith that they would be able to win, but it just didn't happen. So now the team gets to come back home :(

Today México plays Vs. Argentina, it will be a good game with lots of surprises. Vamos México, I believe in you!

So, I am feeling a lot better now about this pregnancy. When I first found out, I felt a lot of fear. I was afraid of how challenging school would be, if we would have enough money to support an extra person, if I would be able to handle two babies, etc. Right now, I feel more peace. I know everything will be more challenging but I know that the Lord knows how much I can handle and I don't think He will give me more than that. The good thing about this pregnancy is that after the baby comes I will be 2/3 done :) I have told Phil that 3 kids is my max and he understands (ahhh, that makes me happy). I just don't see myself having more, I think I would go nuts and end up in a crazy house or something.
The only thing that I am not liking is not being able to enjoy my food. I couldn't eat Phillip's chicken wings on Sunday(they tasted nasty), and other foods and snacks I usually enjoy, I can't eat them right now. I guess that will help me keep a healthy weight, maybe.
I need help in trying to find a healthy pregnancy diet that will help me keep a healthy weight. I am trying very hard to not have bad foods and I am exercising 5 days a week ( I am still running). Please, share ideas with me. I would love to hear from expert mothers.
Thank you!

Happy Father's Day

I know this post is a little late, but it's better late than never. On Sunday, after church we came home and I went straight to the kitchen. I fixed Phillip's beloved chicken wings and fried rice, and didn't forget the dessert! I baked a dutch apple pie (which he loves with vanilla ice cream). He got flowers, cards, and an Angels' hat (I had other plans for his gift, but it was way too expensive. Not that he doesn't deserve that and more but we just got back from an expensive trip and were a little broke).

After dinner we went to my favorite park for a walk. I think Maya had a lot of fun with her daddy. I love to see them play together, they are way cute! I think Phillip enjoyed his day. Maya and I really tried to make his day a special one.

Well, I hope you had a good one Honey. We sure love you and we are very grateful for your wonderful parenting skills :) Thanks for being a great Father and an awesome husband.

Saturday Fun

We had our quarterly Primary activity last Saturday and I think we had a great turn out. The kids had a lot of fun getting us wet, particularly brother Jensen who still is a "kid" at heart. He really enjoyed getting all of us, the adults wet.

After church we came home and I fixed Phillip's lunch for work. Maya went down for a nap and after she woke up we went to do some shopping for Father's Day dinner. After all the shopping had been done, Maya and I went to Heidi's for a little swimming.

The last pictures of México

On Friday we went to Guamuchil Parque Acuatico, it was super fun. Tia Maria and her family came with us to spend the day. We had a lot of fun going down the watertubes! We can tell Maya is going to be a little mermaid because she loves the water :) I can't wait to do swimming lessons with her.

okay I will finish tomorrow, I am going to bed.

A few pictures of our little girl

Fun at the Movies

Yesterday we took Maya to the movies for the first time. Gladys and Caleb joined us, Fernando works the night shift so he was too tired and didn't make it, maybe next time.
After the movie we bought some icecream and let the kids play.

Continuación

Deisy taught Phillip how to drive the 4 wheeler.

After a little lesson he took off by himself.

Then Phillip, Maya and I rode it home ( I got down to take the picture).
Once we got back to my Tios' place I got a haircut.
Maya took a nap while Phillip, Carlos and I went to Tia Ana's place to have some tostadas.

After comida, we went to visit my dad's parents. Maya had so much fun with all the kids.

Mexico Trip

We left Bakersfield June the 5th and drove to LAX Airport. Our flight was supposed to be at 12 midnight but didn't leave until 12:30. Maya did wonderful, she was content most of the time and she slept for a little while during the flight. We got to Guadalajara at 5:30 and Wes, Carlos (my brother) and Vicente ( my cousin) were already there waiting for us. During the drive to Ahualulco, my hometown I was very excited and couldn't wait to get there. Maya loved riding in the car without having to sit in her car seat, I must admit that made me nervous.
Once we got in town we stopped downtown and bought some churros, then headed to my mom's parents' house. I was very happy to see them!
Then after we ate we visited my dad's parents. Maya had a good time playing with her cousins.
We went to La Plaza and had tacos for dinner.

Monday we went to Centro Medico in Guadalajara to visit my cousin who was in a car accident. Not a very cheerful day but I was happy to be able to see him and tell him we love him. I told him he was going to be okay and that he needed to be strong. It was good to be there supporting his family.
Camila and Maya got along really well. They played and colored together.

We took a little break at the hospital and found a grassy area were Maya played and had a snack.
Once we got back to Ahualulco we went and had some tacos for dinner at my cousin Tavi's place.
We took some tacos to my grandparent and there I saw my oldest cousin Beti and ofcouse I got a picture with her.
Tuesday we had breakfast with Mami Silvi, she made tortillas, eggs and beans.
For lunch we went to La Palapa, this restaurant was delicious! We had Aguachile, ceviche, camarones a la Mazatlan and camarones al coco.
After lunch my brother had to pick up my cousin Julio at the airport so we headed to Tia Lulu's place and waited until they opened the shops downtown. After Maya took a nap we went down town and bought a couple of things and hung out at the Plaza.

Wednesday we went back to GDL and did some shopping, walked around and went to donate blood for my cousin.
We love GDL!

After we did our shopping we went back to Centro Medico where Carlos and two of my cousins donated blood. While they donated blood we had lunch at Pollo Pepe, where Phillip used the ladies restroom. Maya played with her Tia Deisy and she loved her! She had fun and enjoyed some Coca Cola.
Thursday we had breakfast at Tio Felipe's and Tia Maria's house. She made a Picadita for me and Chilaquiles for Phillip. After breakfast we went to see their cows and horse. Maya, Deisy and I rode the 4 wheeler out to the field. Maya loved the animals!

To be continued...
