"Mommy ice cream's coming"

One thing I hate about the spring and summer is that Maya gets woken up from her nap by 5 different ice cream trucks. They start driving by our place at around 3 o'clock. I want to start putting her down for her nap earlier in hopes that she can rest a little more. Today she woke up early and so we decided to enjoy the sunshine. We grabbed a blanket and went outside. Addison laid on her blanket, while Maya enjoyed her popsicle. She got so excited when the ice cream man drove by. She had $2.00 in her pocket I had given her earlier and so she bought a Dora popsicle.
Spring is here and I love it! It means going to the park, going for walks, playing with the sprinklers... Please nice weather, don't you leave!

Addison was entertained for quite a while. She stared at her mobile and smiled.
She could have been a little mermaid in the other life (I forgot mermaids aren't real). Okay, maybe a cute little fish.
She loves Addison. She was kissing her belly, but I just couldn't take a picture fast enough.
This two little girls fill my heart with love and gratitude. My life couldn't be any better.

2nd Doctor's Visit- Addison

Addison visited the Doctor's today. She is growing and developing.
She weighs 12lbs 11 oz.
She is 23in.
She is a healthy baby.
We love you Addison. Thank you for choosing us to be your parents! At first I had second thoughts about you (just kidding). You cried and cried, and nobody could really comfort you. Now, you smile and cry (but not us much). We love to talk to you, kiss your chubby cheeks and rub your little nose. Your sister always says to you, "I love you." She always kisses you good night and when you cry she makes sure mommy goes to check up on you.
We all love you!
You make our home a happier place.

Little and Cute

My girls and Phillip enjoying the water.

Pacific Half Marathon- Agoura Hills

After a few months of training Phillip was ready for his fourth half marathon, the Pacific Half. We headed down to Agoura Hills on Friday. We picked up his bib and shirt, went to the ocean for a little bit, then we had some Italian food. Saturday morning we woke up bright and early and dropped him off at the starting line. The girls and I headed to the finish line to wait for Phillip.
I was a little worried because he had some back pain. But he ran awesome despite of his back injury. I was so proud of him when I saw him approaching the finish line.
His time was 2:09:26.
Good job HONEY!

Black and Zebra

Here are my new glasses.
I can see again! Let me tell you, it is weird to be able to see clearly. My eyes were so nice to me while I didn't have glasses. They worked so hard to allow me to "see." Sometimes they would complain and give me headaches. But for the most part they did a good job.
It wasn't until I ran over a curve that I decided that I needed glasses. I am glad the incident happened during the night because the driver behind me didn't see my face (I am convinced). I am sure though he thought to himself, what a stupid driver.

Pink- Sorry Phillip

I promised myself that I would take as many pictures of Addison as I did of Maya. As a result of being the second child and my parents being more occupied, there aren't many pictures of me. Sometimes the lack of pictures of my chubby cheeks makes me sad.

Addison- 4 weeks

Early Nap

results in more time to do fun stuff before it gets dark outside. Maya always goes down for a nap after Phillip goes to work. She sleeps from 2:45 until 4:30 or 5:00. By the time she would be awake it was almost dark outside and so we couldn't do much of anything outside. We would go shopping, but as far as going to the park or for a walk it just wouldn't happen. I am too much of a "wimp", and I hate walking in the dark by myself. So yesterday Maya had an early nap so when Phillip took off for work the girls and I walked to the park. Maya had so much fun and Addison enjoyed the sunshine. I will have to start putting her down for naps earlier so we can do more fun stuff outside. This little girl played with Maya for a while.

Addison's Blessing

Addison's blessing took place last Sunday. But this mommy of two has been really busy and tired, and therefor I had failed to blog about her special day. We were fortunate to have family come for her blessing. Martie, Wes and Grandma Betty came early Friday, followed by Moe and his family who came from Utah. We had fun together. I just wish I could be more comfortable nursing Addison in front of people. I hid in our room every time (except for a couple of times) I had to nurse. Will this ever feel natural to me? Oh well ... back to the subject. I am glad family came to visit. We don't get together with family very often, so I am thankful for the time we had together. Maya enjoyed her cousins so much. We skipped her nap time for the entire weekend because we figured she only gets together with her cousins once or twice a year. One of the days she was so tired that she fell asleep on the couch while watching Shaun the Sheep with her cousins.

Addison's blessing was beautiful. I love the Gospel! I am grateful that Phillip is a worthy Priesthood holder so that he can give us special blessings when needed. I love these special moments in life. Listening to Addison's blessing made me feel like all the pains and aches I had gone through with pregnancy and delivery were all worth it. I am grateful that God gives us the ability to procreate and bring beautiful children into this world. I think I have said it before and I will say it again, I love my girls and I love my husband! My life is complete because of them.

Here are a few pictures of this past weekend:
