Ocampo Navarro Family 2013

Our time with my family went by fast, a sign of fun. I had good and deep conversations with my sister, mom and dad. I love being around them. They also enjoyed the kids a lot. The girls stayed up late making pancakes, watching movies, reading books, playing... the girls will sure miss my family. My two brothers and my mom took the girls to the park a few times. They came home with belly aches from laughing so hard. I went for runs with my oldest brother and by myself. I ran through the fields and the beautiful highway. I did  Insanity every single day by myself, with my mom, and sometimes with my brothers. I tried to convince my sister to do it with me, but I had no success :P We baked zucchini bread, oatmeal cookies, we cooked yummy, healthy food. We watched Les Misérables. I got to sleep in every single day, it was awesome!

I also got to meet Dylan, my sister's boyfriend. He is really nice! I like him ;) We drove to Santa Clara University one day to meet up with him. A funny thing happened while I was driving. We were talking about Les Misérables and we were really concentrated in our conversation that we missed the exit that we were supposed to take. When Maya heard that I had missed the exit she said, " I knew we were going to get lost, instead of paying attention you guys are just telling stories." I pulled in a Coca-Cola factory to try to figure out what to do and Maya said, "This is it?!". We had brought food for a picnic, and had told her that we would have one at SCU. She was disappointed by the ugly Coca-Cola building. I told her we were no there yet.

I baked a cake for Elder Perez because it was his 20th birthday. Some little girl took a little bite off the cake without permission.

I saw my cousin Gisela after 3 years.

Marcos, Maura and I played volleyball with the missionaries and some recent converts and investigators both Fridays I was there. It was so much fun!
A cool thing that happened one of those nights is that a recent covert was playing in my team and I recognized him. I just could not remember where I had met him. After thinking a lot I remembered that I used to work with him at Maze Middle School. He was one of the kids I helped out in resource. He remembered me as soon as he saw me, but was embarrassed to come and tell me. I told him, "Hey, I know you! I used to work with you. Edwin?" He said, "Yes. You were my teacher" with his heavy Mexican accent." I said, "Remember I used to pull your ear for not listening to me." I smiled and told him I was happy for him and his decision. He wants to serve a mission. How awesome is that? A few years ago he was a cholo, up to no good and now he is doing so good. It is so important to treat others kindly at all times. I want to believe that I did my best while working with those resource kids. I treated them with respect and always told them to believe in themselves. They always made mistakes but I told them, to keep on trying. He remembered me with a smile on his face. It made me happy. We a representatives of Christ every where we go and we are being watched at all times.

Two weeks went by fast. I hope to see them soon!

This is a cake the Elders baked for my dad.

Father's Day 2013

We "celebrated" Father's Day Thursday the 13th. Phillip started clinicals a week early than he had anticipated. Consequently,  the kids and I left to go visit my family Thursday morning after he left for work. We decided to give him his gifts a little early. Initially I had thought of hiding them all around the house. I asked the kids what they wanted to do and they said they wanted to give him their presents early, so I obliged .

The girls made their own cards and I added a couple coupons he can hopefully redeem soon. He got a gift from me too and a nice letter with 2 coupons for a dinner of his choice and taking a week off trash duty ;)

Phillip the Intern

It is no secret that my husband is awesome. He is a hard worker and takes pride in his work. He is currently doing his clinical hours for his MRI program while working full time. He also has a church calling and always makes time for us, his family. I love you Phillip! You are my hero, my best friend, my everything! I won't see you much for the next 3-4 months, but all sacrifice has it's reward. I can't wait for ours.I truly appreciate all you do for us. Thank you :)
