Two Day Getaway- No Children

While we were in Hollister our parents were so kind to keep the girls so we could go to Monterey. We spent a couple of days by ourselves. At first I felt guilty for leaving them, but then I started to enjoy it and ended up having a great time. I felt like we were newlyweds but even better. We did lots of walking around Cannery Row, the beach and we spent one of the days in beautiful Carmel. I loved both days, but I think my favorite was walking around Point Lobos State Reserve. It was amazing, I highly recommend this place, it is beautiful and so relaxing. This momma and baby were super close to us.
While in Cannery Row we had lunch at Bubba Gump. I know Bubba is so touristy, but we like the food there.
After Bubba we did some more walking and stopped to get some chocolate at a local candy shop, then we headed to our hotel.
After a little rest we took off again and visited their local farmer's market. We bought some fresh peaches and plums, and we tried some Lebanese food.We walked right by the ocean before heading to the hotel for the night. Ah, and we also stopped by some historical buildings.

The second day we went to Carmel. This little town is gorgeous, I loved it! If Phillip was a Doctor we would live there. We visited the mission there. I love missions, they are so interesting and San Carlos Borroméo de Carmel Mission did not disappoint. We took lots of pictures and just enjoyed one another's company. Once we were done touring the mission we drove downtown Carmel and stopped at a couple shops. We ended up buying some awesome hats at The Carmel Hat Company. We had lunch at a local Café.
This is one of my favorite pictures of the two of us.I loved this stairs, they were so pretty. Finally, we went for one last walk in Monterey and then headed back to Hollister to our two little monkeys.NEXT DESTINATION LOS ANGELES & MALIBU!

Family Time in Hollister

As part of our 6 week vacation we visited family in Hollister. We spent a couple of days with Phillip's parents as well as with my parents. We had yummy food, went for walks, went to the park and flew a kite, went to the ocean, went to a car show, we managed to put in 3 runs for the week and we relaxed. Here are some pictures from our trip.

Here we are at Moss Landing before having dinner at Phil's Fish Market.

How I love Primary Songs

I was raised Catholic and in my teen years I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I became a MORMON. My first calling was in Young Women, then I was moved to work with the little ones in Primary. Ever since then I have been in the Primary. I have come to the conclusion that my favorite part of it is the music. I love to hear the little children's voices. It always sounds so beautiful to me. Today, I had one song stuck in my head and found myself singing it through out the day as I cleaned and gave Maya a bath. I kept singing, "My life is a gift; my life has a plan. My life has a purpose; in heav'n it began. My choice was to come to this lovely home on earth. And seek for God's light to direct me from birth. I will follow God's plan for me. Holding fast to his word and his love. I will work, and I will pray; I will always walk in his way. Then I will be happy on earth and in my home above." I love this song... it makes me feel so happy to know that I have a purpose in life. I need to be a friend to Phillip, a loving mother to Maya and Addison, a good daughter and sister. I need to help those around me and love them no matter what. I need to be a good individual and follow Jesus Christ. I would be a hypocrite if I told you that every day is good and easy. I make mistakes constantly. I struggle with many things. I have bad habits that need to go. And even though I am not perfect one bit, I always feel God's love. I know that when I am doing God's will I am the happiest, and my relationships with family and loved ones are stronger. I just can't imagine my life without God. He really is the best part of me. And oh how I love the Primary children. They have taught me more than what I have taught them.

This has nothing to do with Primary. But it inspired me nonetheless, ah and Maya loved it.

While daddy works, we play.

Phillip has been working extra hours for the past couple of weeks to make some extra money for our 6 week vacation. As I mentioned it earlier, I love the day shift. Our day began early. I fixed some breakfast, we all ate together, and then Phillip left. After he left, we got ready for the day. I needed to get some shopping done... diapers, formula, wipes, vitamins, etc. I promised Maya that after our shopping trip we could stop at the park. She was so excited. She had a lot of fun, except it was way too hot :(
She wanted to make silly faces.
Addy can balance herself for a little while. Then she folds in half like a taco.
She loves to slide, but it got hot too quick :(
Then she wanted to take pictures of mommy. So here they are. Not too bad for a 2 yr. old.
After my photo session, she got hungry from all the hard work. She needed a snack.
Then she said, "I see something. I catch the birdy."
Then after realizing it was too hard to catch a bird, we packed up and headed home. Now, time to fix lunch for my handsome hubby.

I love Polka Dots

Aren't these one piece bathing suits so cute? Found them here.
