Vazquez Sounds

I was introduced to this group of teenagers by my brother Marcos. I personally think they are very talented and I wanted to share a couple of their videos. They are from Mexicali. She is 10, and her two brothers13 & 15. They did everything by themselves, video and all.

Addison update

Little Addison has been able to stand for a while now (I think about a month). She is such a cutie. She is a big girl just like her sister. I took her to the doctor's a couple weeks ago and they informed me that she is tall. She is off the charts for height. She is really active and loves to be held. She was saying "mama" and "papa" for a while, but I think she has forgotten those two words. She loves Annie's Bunnies and loves to drink water. Maya enjoys hugging her, but Addison doesn't like it very much. We are trying to teach Maya to hug her softly, then maybe Addison will like it a little bit better :)
We love you Addison!

Awesome Weekend

Friday:

The girls and I attended our ward Christmas Party.
After the party we came home to receive some company. My brother and his friend Sergio came to pick up my sister and they also spent the night with us.
Maya took pictures of us. She is really good, don't you agree?

We gave them facials. Such cool guys.
 Saturday:
In the morning I got up early, fixed breakfast for everybody, got ready, said goodbye to Marcos, Sergio and Maura and went to my first ever cookie exchange.

When I got home Phillip went to his friend's house to put up Christmas lights. I took Maya to rehearsal for her first Nativity play.

It was an awesome weekend!

David Archuleta

This morning David Archuleta sat behind us during Sacrament meeting. How awesome is that?!

Changes

I know I have mentioned earlier that there were some changes taking place in our lives. I am ready to share these changes with you. A couple of weeks ago Phillip and I were asked to meet with the Bishop of our church. I really didn't know why they needed to see us. But I didn't think much of it. We went to meet with the Bishop and to my surprise he asked me if I would accept a new calling. He told me they had been working on these changes for about six months and that they knew I was to be serving the children as the primary president. I was in shock. I was nervous. I felt unqualified. How could I possibly do this? But I could never say no to the Lord. I replied with a yes and a few tears. The Lord was trusting me with his precious children. This to me is a huge responsibility.
I was sustained and set apart yesterday. I felt a little funny. When they called my name to stand during Sacrament meeting, I felt like a little kid. I bore my testimony and told the congregation that it was okay if they were nervous for their kids, because I was nervous too. They laughed. I promised them and the Lord to stay close and keep myself worthy of the Spirit so I may be guided in every step I take. I love the children and I am happy to be given this opportunity to serve them. I know I will grow spiritually. I know my family and I will be blessed if I serve the Lord to the best of my abilities. My first Sunday as a president went well, we have really good children. Sometimes a handful of them can be wild but for the most part they are good.

This other change was hard. It was a hard decision. I was sad with this decision, but I know this is how it needs to be. I prayed a lot about this. I received my answer and I need to follow through. I am taking a break from school. I need to be a good mother and a good wife. My children need me. Phillip will be going back to school to get his MRI license. I will return to school later. This was a hard decision because for the first time I was able to get into one of the Chemistry classes I need. I know I will not regret this. I will be able to do more with the kiddos. I am excited for dance lessons, sports, maybe music lessons for me. This will be a good change.

Christmas card pictures

Yesterday we attempted taking pictures for our Christmas card this year. It was kind of a fail.  We weren't able to take a family picture because Maya wasn't in a great mood. But we got some good ones. We ordered our cards last nights, so hopefully they will be here soon so we can mail them. I have a question. Why are toddlers so hard to photograph? We bribed Maya with ice cream, but still she wouldn't cooperate. Oh well, these will have to do.
I love the girls' dresses, we got them at Kohl's for a really good price. My dress was a black Friday purchase. It was 75% off at Francesca's  Collection. You know? I really like black Friday deals. I got most of my Christmas shopping done on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Phillip wanted to take pictures of me, and he also said he loved my outfit. So sweet :)

Our only family pictures, Maya didn't want to be in it.

I love this picture. Phillip is so handsome.

He is a handsome man. He really is.

Check out Addison doing the splits.

I love this one of our girls.
