Maya's improvised cake

As you know, Maya had her b-day celebration on Saturday. But I felt so bad to not have made her a cake.  While she was taking her nap I improvised a cake. All from scratch and with ingredients I already had at home.
She loved it!

After having cake, we watched this:

 While eating some of this:

Ah, and how could I forget?! Caleb came to visit and brought Maya a little present. That was so kind of our friends! Thank you so much. My daughter was in her pajamas all day long thanks to me having a back spasm and not being able to do much today, so the only picture of them together looks like this:

I was able to make her cake later in the evening because I was feeling better. Back pains are the worse. I sure hope I can feel better tomorrow.  I want to head out the door and go running and also I would just like to change a diaper without feeling like I am going to collapse (that was a long sentence).

Happy Birthday!

She loved it when we sang to her.

This was her gift. She didn't get toys because she got plenty for Christmas.

Tomorrow our little girl, Maya turns 3. How did that happen? Time has sure flown around this parts. My little girl is so independent and has learned so much in the past 3 years. She had a great week! She got to play with all her little friends and she showed me how she can do just fine without me. She spent the day with her friend, Aubrey a couple times this past week. Aubrey's mom said to me that she would bring her to me when she started asking for me. Knowing Maya I knew she good never come home :) She had lots of fun.

We celebrated her birthday yesterday. We got pizza, took her to a movie, then to Dewar's, our favorite place in town. She was able to bring Aubrey along and she enjoyed it so much.

Maya I love you so much. You made me a mother. You changed my life forever. You have taught me responsibility and unconditional love. I have become a stronger individual because of you. I can't even remember how my life was without you. I am thankful to have you in my life. Thank you, thank you!
And Happy Birthday little Maya!!!

Christmas in Pictures

Christmas Eve was very relaxing. We drove around and looked at some really awesome Christmas lights. There is a house in particular (picture above) that always goes above and beyond. They handed out candy canes as you drove by. Their house looked amazing! The picture above is just a small portion of it.

When we got home Phillip started a fire. I fixed dinner and we sat down to watch Home Alone (an Ocampo tradition).  Ah, and we also opened one present each, which were pajamas.

Here is our tree before the girls woke up. Phillip started a fire, selected some hymns to sing and got the nativity video ready for us to watch before opening presents.

The girls got The Polar Express book, CD and bell pack.

Does this look familiar? It was in my wish list, thanks Phillip.
The girls' ornaments from Willow Tree.
Phillip turned evil with his new hatchet.
Thanks Martie and Wes. WE love our present :) Next time you are here I promise to cook a great meal for you guys.
Phillip and I both got Garmin GPS watches for running!

 Addison loves her new toy.
Maya happy as can be :)
 Our Christmas dinner was delicious.
