Christmas Festivities Part 1

I just wanted to share some pictures from our Christmas celebration. We had great company, good food and lots of fun.

We begun by having Family Home Evening. We had a reenactment of the Nativity.

Our activity was breaking a piƱata FULL of candy. We all had so much fun. Don Wes made us all laugh for a while. I have a video of him, but can't upload it. I will keep trying because you will get a good laugh out of it too.

Then we had fondue and a movie.

The kids opened one present before bed.

The tree before bed time was packed with presents. After Addison and Maya went to bed Santa stopped to drop off presents.

Seven Oaks

Every year we drive around Seven Oaks here in Bakersfield to see all the beautiful lights. Martie and Wes were here with us this year, so they joined us.
An LDS family always has a few  Disney characters performing outside of their home. They truly made my little Maya happy and I am so thankful for that.
Addison was too scared, but Maya kept smiling the whole time. And don't judge her outfit, she is very independent and likes to get herself dressed. Sometimes I just have to let her wear what she picks, other days when the outfits get too crazy I have to convince her to change.

The girls and I had fun today going to the library and checking out a bunch of books, going to the Market Place and running around for a loooong time, getting a scoop of ice cream, dancing and running errands. Now I am tired and ready for bed. Waking up at 4:30 to run 6.5 miles, 5 days a week is getting harder and harder. Good night my friends.

Girls night out

My running partner and I decided it was time to go out for dinner. We both share the same passion for sushi so we decided to go the place where Phillip and I usually go. We drove to Tokyo Gardens and it was closed. Then I remember that there was another place close to Trader Joe's, on the other side of town. The menu was exactly the same, then I remembered Tokyo Gardens had two locations. Miyoshi turned out to be the other location. It was so good! Sometimes I  wished sushi wasn't so expensive, but it really was worth it.  I had so much fun. We will definitely repeat this sushi night.

Making tamales, Dewar's and Cool Family

We spent all Saturday with my side of the family. We had fun making tamales, eating Dewar's, telling jokes, grilling quail, and playing games. I hadn't laughed as hard as yesterday in such a long time.
