Super Delicious

Deliciousness. That is all I can say. Our vegetarian meals are turning out to be delicious. Did I mention they were delicious?

Garden Rotini and Chickpea Salad with Inner Goddess Dressing from "Vegan on the Cheap" by Robin Robertson
Pasta Slaw from the same book.

Guilt free meals, low in calories, super yummy, my kind of food.
I am making improvement. I am getting faster. I am getting stronger. Last Saturday was the first day I ran 10 miles in a long time. It felt good to run that much. I had only been running 3-6 miles and it was killing me.
I ran 21 miles for the whole week. I think this week I will be doing about 24 miles. I am getting really excited about THE GREAT RACE. When I saw this picture it reminded me of Agoura Hills and I felt butterflies in my stomach. I can't wait!

Happy B-day Little Sis

My sister, Maura turned 19 yesterday. She requested chicken wings and rice for her dinner. I baked her a yellow vanilla cake with chocolate fudge frosting, walnuts and milk chocolate chips. She got balloons, flowers and a funny card. We tried to make it special and I think she enjoyed her day. Maura we love you!

Check out my new running buddy

She ran 1/2 a mile and never complained. She said, "mommy lets run faster, faster." Who knows, some day when she is a running champ she might like to look at this picture and remember her first run ever.
Good job little Maya!

Maya is addicted

She is addicted to puzzles. She has done these puzzles over and over again. Yesterday she spent almost 3 hours doing puzzles. She did all 8 at least 2 times. She is crazy and has something I don't have, patience. Good job Maya, now give your little brain a rest :)

Our 5 Year Anniversary

Can you believe Phillip and I have been married for 5 years?! Time never slows down. I am so grateful for all we have been through together. I am not going to lie by saying that we are the perfect couple and that our life together has been 100% happy. Like all other couples we have our ups and downs, but I love how we are always able to forgive one another and move on. We have grown so much and have developed a strong relationship. In all honesty, I can say Phillip is my very best friend. He doesn't try to change me, he loves me just the way I am. And I love him just the way he is too. To me he is and always will be the man of my dreams. I love to look at him while he sleeps, is the greatest feeling ever. He looks so peaceful. There is something about me that enjoys watching people sleep, specially the ones I love. I don't know why, but I do.
For our anniversary we did something local. We wanted to go to the coast and spend some time at the beach, but have been super busy with callings and work. So we decided to do something low key. We headed out the door at around 3:30 pm on Saturday. Our first stop was Sport Chalet. We were trying to find some maps for local places where we can go hiking. But they didn't have what we were looking for.
Our 2nd stop was Sweet Surrender. The best bakery in town. My birthday cake came from this little place and it was just divine.
Red velvet cake is my favorite, but their carrot cake is to die for too.
They have the cutest little boutique, with the cutest stuff.
3rd stop was The Camelot Park. We played outdoor miniature golf.

4th stop was Tokyo Garden for some sushi. I love this place, it is definitely one of my top three restaurants  in town.

5th and final stop was the mall. Eunhee, my friend called me to let me know that Banana Republic was having a great sale. Phillip was so nice to come with me on this mission impossible . Finding a good pair of jeans and look and feel good is impossible for me. I HATE shopping for jeans and ended up in a bad mood. So we headed home empty handed. Then we forgot about the mall experience and enjoyed the rest of the evening. To finish our date we watched X-man: First Class. So romantic, I know :)

5th Birthdy Party for Thomas

Saturday morning we attended Thomas' b-day party. It was so fun and both Maya and Addison had fun. Maya never stopped jumping in the bounce house. There were games to play and yummy food for the tummy. Eunhee and Clint always organize the best parties.

Here is Thomas with his cake.
This is Jennie, Thomas' sister. Maya loves playing with her.
The cake frosting painted our tongues this color.
I was nice enough to share my slice of cake with Addison.

Random post

By the time the sun comes out I have already been up for about 2 hours. I wake up at 4:30 so I can head out for a run with a group of friends. I love watching the sun come out!

The girls like to play for a little while when they wake up.

Maya likes to help me in the kitchen. Are you wondering how we are doing with our vegetarian diet? We are doing great! We have been eating lots of legumes, vegetables, eggs, cheese and fruits. We haven't purchased any meat for the past two weeks :)

The Grand Reveal

 Super ancient looking.
I love this bathroom now, it is beautiful!
Honey did all the hard work, and I was the decorator. Thanks Phil for doing such an amazing job.
