Murray Family Farms

We were not able to go trunk-or-treating tonight, but earlier today Phillip took us to a surprise place. He got home from running some errands and asked if I could get ready because he wanted to take us some place. I asked him where we were going but he wouldn't tell. Well, he took us to Murray Family Farms and it was really fun. We took pictures, walked through a corn maze, rode a hay ride, bought some chocolate and honey and had a great time.

Peterson's Halloween Party

We were able to go to the Peterson's Halloween Party tonight and we had a great time. I missed my hubby though!
Maya enjoyed hanging out with all the kids and a piece of bread. She held that piece of bread until it was all gone.
Maya was a bumble bee and I was supposed to be an adelita but a few people told me I looked like Sacagawea from the movie "A Night at the Museum."

Maya Playing

Dinner with the Figueroas

(Leyna with a mouth full of whipped cream)
1.Excited
2. Not so excited
3. Scared!
Yesterday we had the Figueroas over for dinner. We enjoyed having them in our home. The girls get along so well, I think they had a good time together as well. They are looking for a home to buy, I hope they don't move too far so the girls can be friends and play together. We took some pictures of them eating some whipped cream. I wanted to take pictures of them playing together but they did not cooperate.

Training for our first 10k

(Phillip and Maya after running 4 miles on Saturday, no picture of me because I was the photographer)
We have been training for our first 10k. Tomorrow we start running 5 miles, wish us luck! We are so happy that we have found a sport that we both enjoy and it is a great bonding experience for the the both of us. We love running!

Pictures that make me happy!

One of the happiest days of my life!
(It's so cute)
If you know me, then you must know that I love Frida Kahlo. I know some people think that her artwork was very graphic and I agree. But I admire her as a woman, she was strong and determined, and also defended her ideals for a better México.
I took a picture of this at the Via Arte Festival because when I looked at it, it made me smile.
Mutual love
I love this room! This a great idea for Maya's room. Don't you love it?

Via Arte Festival 2009

After a day full of errands and studying we decided to take a break and go to the annual Via Arte Festival at the Market Place here in Bakersfield. There were a lot of talented people. We enjoyed walking around and admiring their works of art. There was also live music and of course I felt like dancing, so I danced with Maya. We shared an ice cream cone, bought some Chinese food and headed home. It was a fun evening!

Daycare Kids

Here are a couple if pictures of Heidi's Daycare kids. I had to watch them both Thursday and Friday from 7:15am-6:30pm.They were really good for the most part. I really don't think that I could handle having more than 4 kids of my own. I was glad that I was able to help Heidi, she really needed to go see her family and get a break from her busy life.

The Real Crawl

Last week our little Maya started doing the real crawl. She is getting so good at it!

Mami Silvi and Papi Toño

I found this picture of my mom's parents and I absolutely love it. When I lived in México, I had a beautiful relationship with my grandma, Silvina. She always gave me advice and encouraged me to do my best in all I did. She is such a great example for me because she was and still is a strong woman. She was hard working and dedicated to her family. She was always there for us and gave us unconditional love.

My grandpa, Antonio is a great man. He started from the bottom and worked very hard to provide for his family. He used to be a very strict man and he had a lot of rules, but he has changed a lot. He still expects us to do our best but is much more "soft" and understanding (if that makes sense).
I love them both!

Kern County Fair

Last night after General Conference we went to the annual Kern County Fair. We had so much fun to say the least. Maya and Phillip got to ride an elephant, I had to stay down to take pictures. We saw a hypnotist show, turkey race, acrobatics and motorcycle show, and Maya and I rode a carousel. I can not forget the yummy corn dogs, french fries, funnel cake and kettle corn we had (I feel so bad, have to work out double the time today and the rest of the week). Well, here are some of the pictures we took, enjoy!
