El Raton Vaquero

Maya loves to sing before bed time. Today we sang some of the songs that I grew up with. Cri Cri was defensively my favorite.
All of his songs are classics in México.

Memorial Day Weekend

Phillip worked Monday, so we celebrated Memorial Day on Saturday. We had a picnic at the park, played, watched Harry Potter, ate pizza and had ice cream.

I've gone from...

Aunt Jemima to WHAT THE HECK was I thinking! It has been almost a whole year since my last haircut. In my book that is a huge accomplishment because this lady likes to get haircuts ALL the time. This is how my hair looks now:As of Sunday.

Now don't judge when you see the red bangs, that is probably the worst looking hair I have ever seen. But, hey I was in the process of learning. There are many more pictures but I just didn't have room for them all.
Now go ahead and laugh :)
I give you permission.

Camping in our Family Room

I had promised Maya that after doing the dishes we would build a home out of blankets. But then I had a better idea. I brought in our two men tent and set it up in our family room. Maya was so excited! She brought her sleeping bag, doll, toy phone, books, etc. She had so much fun!Maya having orange and little bite size pieces of a granola bar.
I had to take turns playing with Maya and entertaining Addison. Sometimes I feel like I need a clone.
Addison was a little freaked out by the camera. But as long as she is sitting on my lap, then she is a happy camper.
I don't always look like this, but this is my running face and running outfit. Hope you don't mind.

I can't help it

I love make up, clothes and shoes. I am a girly girl and I am not ashamed of it. Don't think I am materialistic, because I am not. My Lord and family come first. If I had to stop shopping today, I would do it without withdrawals. At first, it was hard to really be me and not hide my love for cute things. But not any more, I have embraced it. I don't think my hubby fully does, but he lets me be me, within a budget (of course).
I had been looking for a new set of brushes and I did my research. After reading and watching reviews, I decided to go for these. I received my Sigma Brushes a couple of weeks ago. I didn't want to write about them until I had tried them. And let me tell you, I have used them a few times and I love them! They are awesome. I love them because they don't shed, they are so soft and my make up looks even. I really recommend them. Also, I had been having problems with my face. It was really dry. I think because of all the sun it gets. I always forget to wear my hat when I go running. So I went to Sephora and picked up this.
I have been using it just a few days and my skin already feels better.
It is never too early to take care of our skin.

a runner or not?

Yesterday Phillip and I ran together for like the second time. I think our first run together was only like a 3 or 4 mile run. Yesterday, we ran 12 miles! I had done 10 miles earlier in the week, then I did 4 miles on Thursday and I thought it would be a piece of cake to do another long run (12 miles).I was WRONG. I was feeling tough at the begging, but my legs were tired. I MEAN REALLY TIRED! I wanted to stop like at mile 4 but I toughened up and just did the whole distance. So this week I am happy to know I ran 26 miles :) And I am ready for this half marathon. Except my legs are really tired as of right now.

What a cute horse

and what a cute cowgirl!
I was preparing my lesson for primary this morning and I could hear Maya telling Addison, "I lobe you baby Addy, you cute!" I looked behind me and she was laying next to her, isn't that cute?
I love being a mother. When I found out I was pregnant with Addison, one of my first thoughts was, "Maya is going to be jealous of the baby." I had heard many stories of older siblings being mean to babies, and I was a little afraid that would be the case in our home. But I was WRONG, Maya loved her sister from the first time she met her.

Another thing I wanted to share is that Maya loves saying prayer. And she says Jesus is her big brother. It makes me smile, I guess we must be doing something right :)

Whether you believe you can or you can’t you are right

My first half marathon of the year will take place in two weeks. I have been training for about 9 weeks and today I did my longest run, 10 miles. I didn't think it was possible for me to train in 2 1/2 months. But I will be ready.

Mommy you funny

My friend Eunhee gave some facial masks because I told her I have been having problems with my skin. She told me that she gets these mask from Korea and she wanted me to try them. Today I used my first one. I will keep using them and see if they work for me. I hope so, Eunhee's skin is smooth and even, and I want skin like hers. If they work, then she will bring some more for me.
(I am sure I didn't do a good job at applying it)

Maya thought I looked funny, but she wanted one too. I made her one out of a paper towel but she didn't like and took it off right away :P
You can kind of see how dry my skin is around my lips.

I lost 3 teeth today

I had to get my wisdom teeth pulled out today. It was not fun. I did not like it. But I had to do it. Now I have a puffy face and I am craving some bread (my weakness). But I am stuck with a soft and liquid diet.

La Realeza

Okay so I was sick of the whole Royal wedding. I mean, after a while it gets kind of old. But today I found these pictures and well, I wanted to share.

We went picture crazy

Maya was in a picture mood this afternoon. She even modeled for me.

Addison is looking at the camera. Good job Addison.
The hubby doesn't mind posing for pictures as long as it is with his girls.
Can you tell the difference?

Here is Maya posing for the camera.

I am currently looking for new make up brushes. The set I currently have is like 6 yrs. old and well I need new ones. Maya has lost a couple of my eyeshadow brushes and I have been missing them lately. I am looking to buy brushes that will last me a while and that are good quality. Do you have any suggestions for me?
I am really in love with this set.

1/4 Year Old

Addison's 3 month birthday is today. I can't believe how fast she is growing. She is all smiles! She likes to be tickled and loves to be held (which baby doesn't?). She is discovering her hands, she looks at them and follows them with her eyes as she moves them. She is still feeding at night (at around 2am or 3am). I am trying to get rid of that feeding, any suggestions? She is doing wonderfully. Except both Maya and her are fighting a little cold at the moment :( Hope it goes away soon.

I can't imagine my life without this little girl. She is definitively a keeper :)

Mother's Day 2

The actual Mother's Day was pretty relaxing. In the morning we opened our presents and got ready for church. Then went to church, came home and had lunch.

Here is the card from my hubby:The inside is way too cute, but I don't think he would like me to post a picture of it.
Hubby had the girls paint on my card :)
Phillip and the girls got me these chairs. The summer days are approaching and I want to soak in the sun while Maya plays in her pool.He also got this wind chime for me. He knows I love them!
I could be like Mama Odie:

Mother's Day

Mother's Day celebration begun Saturday. Martie and Wes traveled to Bakersfield to spend the weekend with us (they came Friday). The men took us out to lunch to our favorite Italian restaurant, Frugatti's. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and great company. After lunch, the men went out shopping and us, the girls headed back home. Later in the evening we all went to the rodeo and had fun watching the cowboys fall off their horses and bulls. It was a great evening!

Martha is amazing! She always helps me so much, the girls love her and I love her too!
The weather was perfect so we decided to eat outside.Lita and Maya enjoying some delicious bread.
Can you tell Maya was excited to eat asparagus?
Our smiley baby.
Maya loved the bread and got a little too creative with it.

After waiting a few minutes for our food, they finally brought out to us. Can I just say it was amazing?
Phillip's: Theresas Favorite Tortellini
Erika's (mine): Crab and Shrimp Ravioli
Wes': Eggplant Parmesan
Martie's: Wood Fired Salmon w/ Fat Sammy Sauce

After lunch we took some more pictures.
Here are some pictures of the rodeo:
