Santa Barbara Marathon

I am feeling a little better today. Phillip tried to lift up my spirits by telling me I could have finished in the top ten of my age group if I didn't have to push the double jogger. I was close. I finish # 14 :( I won't be running another half this year. I have a 5k next month, then a Ragnar Relay, then a marathon to finish the year. I am beyond thrilled. Running a marathon is part of my bucket list. I hope this year is the year. Phillip and I have selected the Santa Barbara Marathon. It is open for registration already but we will wait a little bit. Kristi, my sister will run it too. Then onto baby making. That is hard training I must say.

Disneyland- 2

The 2 days we spent at Disneyland went by really fast. On the first day we got to see Jason (Phillip's best friend) and his family. We had fun although we learned that Disneyland is not a place for reunions. I hope we get to see Jason some time in the near future. The second day was all about the girls. They got to do a lot of girly stuff. They met a few princesses and got to ride their favorite rides over and over again.  We loved our visit, minus the multitude of people. Until we meet again! Thank you Disney :)
This was the Nemo ride. They loved it at first, but then it got scary.

Jason's kids.

Addison's favorite thing to do at Disney.
Addison love It's a small world!

Jason's father, so sweet and nice!

Jason and his wife, Adrianne.

Kern River Take 2

This is what we do with my mother and father in law.
We love it when they come to visit!

Laguna Hills- Memorial Day Weekend

We got to our hotel right after 3pm on Friday. The first thing we did when we got to Laguna Hills was pick up our race gear. Our hotel was nice because it had two separate rooms. The girls were able to take naps and go to bed while Phillip and I hung out in the other room and watched TV.
Saturday we just played at Capistrano beach. It was beautiful! And the weather was perfect.

I turned Maya into a mermaid.
Then Phillip and the girls played in the pool for a few minutes. Then we had to go get dinner.

We had dinner at Olive Garden. It was good and the elderly couple behind us was so sweet. They loved Addison and Maya.

Today was our race. Can I be honest? This was the most challenging race I have ever done. Pushing a double jogger up hill (and I mean up hill) was torture. I wanted to go faster but my legs just couldn't. I felt like crying toward the end because my legs were not responding. We finished right under a 10 minute pace. But I was hoping for better. I just want a flat-fast course and no jogger (is that to much to ask?). I want a real time! I was trying to just have fun, but when your body is out of energy there is no fun to it. I guess I should quit my complaining. I just don't feel that great today! Tomorrow might be better.

Maya did her first race. She ran the diaper dash for 3 years old and under. She loved it. We didn't carry our camera in the jogger so we couldn't take pictures because the camera was in the car a few miles away :( I hope the photographers who were hired for the race took pictures of her.  This is her showing off her first medal ever!
