This week is a big one for me. I have been doing marathon training with my running partner. I am scared for this Saturday because for the first time I will be running 20 miles! I think my legs will fall off. I really wished I could run a marathon in the next few weeks. But there are no marathons on Saturday during the month of June in the  area. My partner is running his race in Utah and I can't afford traveling that far to run a race. So today I told him, "the day of your race, I will wake up and run a marathon here in Bakersfield." Then he replied, "that's no fun, you want to do the real deal. You want to run an official race." So I am a little sad that I have been training so hard and won't be running one until later this year. But 20 this weekend sounds scary and exciting :)

Temple and The Music Man

Yesterday was a perfect day. Phil and I attended the Temple. So far we are on track with our goal for this year. My sister watched the girls here in Bakersfield while we drove and went to the Temple. After the temple we had lunch at IN-N-OUT Burger. Phillip was excited about his "fry animal" and "double double."

At 6:30 pm Maura and I went to The Music Man. A production put together by our stake. They did a magnificent job. I am so proud of them. The lead was Wes Jensen who happens to be one of our teachers in Primary and a bunch of my kids were in it too. Also two of our Ragnar teammates had leading parts.

And I had to get pictures with the stars of the show :)
 
 

New Hobby

Today I had my first voice lesson. I am so excited! I love to sing, but I don't have much confidence in my voice. My teacher told me I have a good pitch. I learned the proper posture for singing, as well as proper breathing. We found out I am an alto and then headed over to a music store. We picked up a couple books I will be using, Alfred's Essentials of Music Theory, Teach yourself to sing and another that they had to order for me because they didn't have it at the store. I am looking forward to this new hobby of mine! I will tell you how it goes.

Color Me Rad 5K

I will be doing this race with some friends June 30th! It looks like so much fun :)

Wedding Dress

Today we were talking about weddings because my daughter insists that she is getting married to Caleb. I told my sister, "let's try on my dress," and so we did. I was socked when I tried it on. It was big on me. My chest area has disappeared (funny, hahaha), my arms are half the width, and my waist line is smaller. I am happy, I just wished certain things would not shrink :P

Sick Maya

Maya was so sick a couple days ago that she even took a nap in the morning. I had to get a picture of my poor little girl. She never takes naps anymore, so that's how I knew she was not feeling to good.

Tea Party

 I forgot to blog about A-Days' Tea Party. It was so fun. The girls' moms joined us for this activity. We had fancy crackers and cheese, sugar cookies, chocolate, cupcakes and tea.

 Maya loves to play with her teacup set that my mother got for her. Addison enjoys playing with the set too. However,  Maya get's annoyed by Addi because she puts them away every second and Maya has to pull them out of the container over and over again.

As soon as I walked out of the room Addi got upset because Maya was done sharing. I had to go back in the room and talk to them. Oh girls!

Friday Evening

 I hosted a baby shower for Leah Freeman, a friend from church. We played a few games and had tons of fun. I love parties. I made the decorations, which I think turned out cute. Leah seemed to enjoy her celebration and that made me happy.
