Visiting with the Moreno Family

About a week ago Maya and I went to visit Fernando, Gladys and Kalobe. Maya was tired and not very happy, but I think she had a good time with baby Kalobe. They looked so cute together. Gladys and Fernando cooked some yummy chile con carne and rice, thanks guys for having us over.

Taking A Bath With Daddy

Don't they look so cute?

When Camera Was Broken

Bakersfield gets really hot during the summer, so I thought that it would be a good idea for Maya to hang out in her little swimming pool for a while. I filled it up with water, got her ready and grabbed the camera so I could take pictures to share with the family. I sat her in the pool and she was playing with her little toys, when she notices that I was taking pictures she reached for the camera, pulled it from my hands and dropped it in the water. I did not know how to react. I wanted to laugh and yet wanted to cry as well. Well, after letting the camera sit there for a few days so it could dry, it finally worked again yesterday.

So here are the pictures I took before the accident:

Army Crawling

Maya started army crawling about 2 weeks ago. I love to see her moving all over the place, but I don't really like the piles of her dirty laundry :D She is such a cutie!

Kinghorn Family Reunion

At the beginning of the month we went to Utah for family reunion. The drive was long and sometimes hot (if the car would start overheating, we would have to turn off the a.c.). I didn't think the car was going to make it, so I would keep saying little prayers in my head asking Heavenly Father to get us there safely. After a while of driving I realized that everything was going to be okay and that the car would get us there. I felt so relived!

Once we got to Utah, we saw some beautiful scenery. I love Utah so much. When we would drive by beautiful cities, we would day dream about how cool it would be to live there. Well, after 13 hours of driving we got to Eagle Mountain and stayed the night at Kristi's (Phillip's sister). It was really nice of her to let us stay in her home.

The next day we got ready and headed over to Cherry Hill located in Kaysville. We got checked in and got our tent set up. Then once everyone showed up we went and played home run derby. I think the guys had lots of fun.

My favorite day of family reunion was Saturday. In the morning we drove to Salt Lake City and had a photography session for family pictures. I am so excited to see them! After pictures we headed back to Cherry Hill and rode the water slides all day long! It was a lot of fun. We had so much fun that we all forgot to take pictures :P

Sunday we got up early, got ready and went to Music and the Spoken Word in the Conference Center. It was really nice, I had never been to it. Then we went to get our stuff at Cherry Hill and headed to Tremonton where we spent the rest of the day with Moe and his family. We had a lot of fun playing with the kids, singing and talking to Moe and Angela. We stayed up late talking and had to wake up early the next day because Phillip had a Dr.'s appointment in Salt Lake. I think we only had about 4 hours of sleep, we were so tired! Sadly, we had to head back home. We drove most of the way and stopped at a place called Buffalo Bills in the state border of Nevada and California. The next morning we drove the rest of the way (about 3 1/2 hrs.) It was nice to be back home, Maya wasn't feeling too well that day because she was teething. So it was nice for her to be able to get lots of rest. We are glad we went, we had a great weekend!

Sequoia National Park

I am so behind on this.
While my brother and sister were here visiting, we went camping to Sequoia National Park. I had been there before for my first backpacking trip. I was a little scared about the black bears, but some how I managed to control my fears and go. The drive was a complete adventure, the car was overheating and we didn't think the car was going to make it. We were all frustrated and ended up getting upset. I felt really bad because I wanted it to be a great experience for us. We got over it and forgave each other. After that, we had a good time! We went hiking, bike riding, ate delicious food, and we even went to a little concert.
Maya had a great time with daddy. The morning I took this picture Phillip had gotten her dressed. She was going to wear a different outfit, but Phillip wanted her to wear her hat and didn't think that the other outfit matched the hat. I just thought to myself, "we are camping, nobody is going to see her but us." He is so cute!
The mosquitoes loved my brother's blood! He got so many mosquito bites. Even though he was itching everywhere, he had a good time riding my bike all over the place.
Here is a picture of my cute brother:Here is a picture of us by a huge Sequoia tree:

My Thoughts

Today I have been thinking of how blessed I am to have a beautiful little family. I LOVE my husband so much, he is my best friend and does so much for me. I have a beautiful daughter, who is such a good baby. I am so grateful for all the blessing the Lord has given me and continues to give me. Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve this much.

I have been day dreaming so much of how grate it would be to be able to learn how to play the piano. While we were in Utah, we visited Moe and Angela (my brother-in-law and his beautiful wife). Angela played the piano for us, while we sang primary songs. I could just feel the spirit so strong. It is so amazing how music can invite the spirit in to a home. Phillip and I have been talking about me taking piano lessons. I really want to do it! I hope I am able to find an instructor.

I have the disire to become a better mom and wife. There is so much me to learn still...
